Bryansk Machine-Building Plant has sent the newest ТЭ26 mainline freight and passenger diesel locomotive for testing. This was reported by the press service of Transmashholding.
Acceptance and certification tests of the ТЭ26 diesel locomotive will be carried out simultaneously at the Kolomna Research and Design Technological Institute of Rolling Stock.
The ТЭ26 diesel locomotive has no analogues in the world. It is designed for driving freight-passenger and passenger trains on low-traffic sections of railways.
The multiple-unit system allows the operation of up to four locomotives, which makes it possible to efficiently maneuver traction in a wide range when organizing the transportation of trains weighing up to 7100 tons.
The locomotive features a high level of localization. Almost all components of ТЭ26 are made in Russia.
