Уникальный никелевый сплав для энергоустановок нового поколения разработали в Росатоме

Products made of this material can withstand temperatures above 700 °C

Scientists from the scientific and production association "Central Research Institute of Technology of Mechanical Engineering" (NPO "TsNIITMASH", part of the Rosatom Machine-Building Division) have patented a nickel alloy for advanced power plants (equipment for the production, conversion and transmission of energy). This was reported by the press service of the state corporation.

Computer modeling methods were used in the development of the new material. This made it possible to create a unique alloying technology (the introduction of alloying elements into the alloy, which change the initial properties of the metal).

The calculated characteristics of the alloy have been confirmed by laboratory tests, while the mechanical properties of the developed material exceed those of existing world analogues.
Sergey Logashov, Director of the Institute of Materials Science of NPO "TsNIITMASH"

Products made of nickel alloy from TsNIITMASH can be operated at temperatures above 700 °C and pressures up to 35 MPa. The material has already been included in the conceptual design (preliminary design stage to determine the overall concept of the object) of a new coal-fired power unit with ultra-supercritical steam parameters.
