Cheboksary Power Aggregate Plant (ChZSA) is launching the production of new 5-ton Silant forklifts with a localization level of 80%. In 2026, the company plans to produce more than a thousand machines, which will increase the share of Russian forklifts in the market to 10%.
To implement the program, a new assembly shop is being built on the territory of ChZSA. The first model in the series is the Silant PD 5.0 diesel forklift, created by Apriornye Resheniya Mashin. PD 5.0 has already been included in the long list of the national award "Best Industrial Design of Russia". Production is organized as part of the Rosspetsmash Association.
According to the company, Silant is capable of occupying up to 50% of the Russian market in the segment of 5-ton forklifts. Today, 99% of similar machines in the country are foreign-made. The new project will be an important step towards import substitution and the development of domestic mechanical engineering.
Characteristics of the Silant PD 5.0 forklift
The forklifts are equipped with a diesel engine from the Minsk Motor Plant (MMZ) with a power of up to 57 kW and a working volume of about 4.6 liters. The design includes four cylinders, a lifting height of up to 3 meters, a maximum speed of 26 km/h, and a curb weight of about 8 tons.
The model's lifting capacity is 5000 kg with a center of gravity of 600 mm. The machine is designed for intensive operation, is reliable, has a low cost of ownership and is easy to maintain. The range of available masts is from 3 to 6 meters. The plant provides a warranty of 24 months or 3000 operating hours.
According to Rosspetsmash forecasts, the launch of the Silant line will strengthen the position of Russian manufacturers in the segment of lifting and transport equipment. An increase in localization to 80% will ensure the development of related industries and reduce dependence on imported components.
