The unknown round module spotted on the export version of the Su-34 in the nose turned out to be a radiation sensor from the Su-35S fighter. This was reported by a military blogger and former pilot, the author of the Telegram channel Fighterbomber.
He suggested that aircraft are supplied for export in a stronger configuration than for the Aerospace Forces (VKS) of Russia.
The radiation sensor (let's call it that for now) was taken from the Su-35S, and finally it ended up on the Su-34. This is, like, a plus. In the distant future, perhaps, the Su-34 will be equipped with computers, engines, a radar, and a seat. And, apparently, they will be. But not for us.
The former pilot noted that the sensor will not make the Su-34 many times stronger, but the fighter will become a little more perfect.
The survival rate of crews will increase by some percentage. The probability of successful completion of a combat mission will also increase by some percentage. I don’t know of a single VKS aircraft in this modification. Of the added options, aircraft with cool headlights have appeared, but where is everything else? And where is all this on all the Su-34s in service with us?
The media reported that Algeria ordered at least 14 bombers Su-34ME from Russia. The Russian side has not yet confirmed it.
