Leasing may be used to supply new Il-114-300 aircraft to regional airlines, according to Sakhamin Afanasyev, a member of the Federation Council Committee on Federal Structure.
According to him, the idea has already begun to be worked out in the upper house of parliament.
Our committee has been instructed to work with the heads of regions on participation in the leasing program for this aircraft until 2030.
The Il-114-300 has a capacity of 68 seats. Presumably, the aircraft will be of interest to regional air carriers. However, there is an opinion in the industry that, in terms of its characteristics, this version of the Il-114 is outperformed even by 65-year-old An-24s.
Serial deliveries of the aircraft may begin next year.
