Leasing may be used to supply new Il-114-300 aircraft to regional airlines. This was announced by Sakhamin Afanasyev, a member of the Federation Council Committee on Federal Structure.
According to him, the idea has already begun to be worked out in the upper house of parliament.
Our committee was instructed to work with the heads of regions on participation in the leasing program of this aircraft until 2030.
The capacity of the Il-114-300 is 68 seats. Presumably, the aircraft will be of interest to regional air carriers. However, there is an opinion in the industry that this version of the Il-114 is inferior even to the 65-year-old An-24 in terms of its characteristics.
Serial deliveries of the aircraft may begin next year.
