On October 15, a delegation from the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, chaired by First Vice Speaker Andrey Yatskin, held an offsite interdepartmental meeting at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant (part of the United Aircraft Corporation of Rostec) on behalf of Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko. This was reported by the UAC press service.
Yatskin noted that the industry faces the task of finding a balance between the interests and production and technological capabilities of aircraft factories, and the need to ensure the financial efficiency of airlines.
The Irkutsk Aviation Plant and our other manufacturers have to solve an unprecedented task for the modern world aircraft industry. Russia independently develops and produces up to 100% of materials, elements, technologies, units, and systems. And we see that, despite all the difficulties, we are steadily moving forward.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Transport, and the Ministry of Finance. They discussed the progress of the project for testing and certifying the domestic airliner, ensuring the plant's workload, and cooperation on the MC-21.
At the production facility, senators were told that a final assembly shop, a hangar, and a logistics center for ground testing and customization of airliners were built specifically for civilian purposes. The new equipment will allow the aircraft factory to significantly reduce the processing time of parts, increasing labor productivity.
The Irkutsk Aviation Plant builds Su-30SM2 fighters, MC-21 passenger aircraft, and Yak-130 light attack aircraft.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Il-114-300 Will Receive Certification Only in 2026.
