Certification of the new Russian regional aircraft Il-114-300 has been postponed to 2026. This was announced by the head of Rosaviatsia, Dmitry Yadrov.
At the same time, the head of the agency clarified that the aircraft has already entered the final stage of certification activities.
"The Il-114-300 is actually in the final stage of certification, and we plan that the certification and issuance of the type certificate will be completed in the first quarter of next year"
As a reminder, in mid-September, the managing director of the development company "Il", Daniil Brenerman, promised that the aircraftis planned to be certified by the end of 2025.
The capacity of the Il-114-300 is 66 passengers; the aircraft is an improved version of the basic Il-114-100 with more powerful TV7-117ST-01 engines. It was developed to replace the An-24/26 on local airlines, as well as foreign ATR 42/72, Bombardier Q300 and CRJ100/200.
Yadrov added that Russian airlines have An-24/26problems with maintaining airworthiness, but the regulator is forced to extend their operational life to 60 years while waiting for a replacement.
It should also be noted that the comprehensive program for the development of the aviation industry states that up to 2030 it is necessary tosupply 51 Il-114-300 aircraft.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Russia is launching a new production of parts for the MC-21 and SJ-100.
