Virsign Innovations LLC presented a VR simulator for training and certification of tower crane operators at the "Cloud Cities. Forum on the Future of BRICS Cities" forum. In addition, the company demonstrated the Virsign CDU crane remote control system, which uses mixed reality technologies.
The VR simulator allows trainees to work in a virtual crane cabin using VR glasses and controls identical to real ones. The device simulates various weather conditions, interaction with a signalman, and task execution.
In addition to VR glasses, the image is also displayed on a monitor. The modular design of the simulator supports training on different types of equipment: overhead crane, gantry crane, reach stacker, Liebherr LHM.
The "Virsign CDU" complex includes an operator's chair, displays for displaying data from several cranes, and a system for switching between them using key cards. Mixed reality technology with a 4K camera provides a 360-degree view.
The systems are equipped with safety functions: collision prevention using sensors and computer vision, automatic crane shutdown when people are detected in the work area, and equipment condition monitoring.
According to the company, the technologies reduce crane downtime, increase work speed, and reduce injuries. They also allow cranes to be switched to automatic or semi-automatic mode.
The "Cloud Cities. Forum on the Future of BRICS Cities" forum is taking place in Moscow on September 17-18, 2025, in Zaryadye. The event is dedicated to the digital development of megacities and brings together experts from more than 30 countries.
