«Карликовый Буратино»: необычную модель боевого робота представили конструкторы «Робототехнического инжиниринга»

A combat module designed for single-use reactive weaponry is placed on a small-sized tracked robotic platform

Russian engineers from the company "Robotics Engineering" have presented a new model of a combat robot, which immediately attracted attention on social networks and Telegram channels. Users began calling it "Dwarf Buratino" and "Dwarf TOS." Despite its compact size, the robot possesses significant firepower.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation actively uses unique combat vehicles — heavy flamethrower systems (TOS). The very first of these, TOS-1, was nicknamed "Buratino" even before 2022. Its modernized version, TOS-1A, is known as "Solntsepyok." Recently, TOS-2 was developed under the name "Tosochka." Finally, the latest model, TOS-3, was designated "Dragon." All these systems, with the exception of TOS-2, are built on a tracked tank chassis.

The new development, nicknamed "mini-Buratino" by analogy, conceptually repeats the principle of operation of heavy flamethrower systems. A combat module designed for single-use reactive weaponry is placed on a small-sized tracked robotic platform. The module can accommodate up to six disposable reactive flamethrowers of Russian production, including models RPO-A, RPO-Z, and RPO-D.

The complex can be controlled both remotely by an operator and in fully autonomous mode. The latter option is provided as a backup solution in case of loss of communication with the control panel. In this case, the system switches to autonomous mode, navigating using satellite data, an inertial measurement unit (IMU), and a pre-set movement program.

It is also worth noting that firing from the installed block with reactive flamethrowers is carried out both in salvo mode and using selected single flamethrowers.
