The Svetlovsky mining and processing plant (GOK) of AO Vysчайший has been launched in the Irkutsk region. The technological launch of the factory took place after the construction of the facility in 2.5 years on an empty site where there was nothing before.
After reaching its design capacity in 2026, the enterprise will process up to 4.5 million tons of ore per year and produce up to four tons of gold. Geological exploration is ongoing in the licensed areas of the Svetlovsky ore field to expand the mineral resource base. The project is included in the implementation plan of the Strategy for Socio-Economic Development of the Siberian Federal District until 2035.
As part of the construction in Bodaibo and the region, 112 km of roads were created, power lines and fiber-optic communication were laid, and cellular and wireless Internet communication were provided. A modern shift camp with a full range of amenities has been built for employees. The proximity of the new GOK to GV Gold's existing assets has accelerated the construction and launch of production.
It is expected that over ten years of operation of Svetlovsky, investments in the socio-economic development of the region will exceed 30 billion rubles, and tax deductions will exceed 10 billion rubles. The company plans to support small and medium-sized businesses through regional contracts and create over a thousand jobs in conditions equivalent to the Far North regions. 55 contractors from all over Russia participated in the project.
The Irkutsk region occupies a leading position in the country in terms of gold reserves, with more than 30% of Russia's total reserves concentrated in the region. The new GOK strengthens the economic potential of the region, creates jobs, develops infrastructure and increases the investment attractiveness of the Bodaibo region and the region as a whole.
