The "Digital Transport and Logistics" Association organized a test drive of the first passenger unmanned boat in the waters of the Moscow River. For 20 minutes, passengers observed the autonomous operation of the vessel, which independently steered, accelerated, and decelerated remotely.
Even with a complete loss of communication and GPS signal, the operator can return the boat to a safe place.
This boat, developed at the Russian University of Transport by order of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation on the basis of the six-seater "Volzhanka" vessel, is capable not only of transporting passengers, but also of performing functions such as mapping water bodies, measuring depth, and monitoring water quality. In the future, such vessels may accompany icebreakers and operate in fully automated ports.
Currently, there is only one test model of the boat. Mass implementation of such vessels is expected by 2030.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Russia established the production of combat marine unmanned boats.
