Гидроакустическая станция «Полином» помогла экипажу БПК «Североморск» найти подлодку условного противника

Exercises involving the Project 1155 ship took place in the Arctic Ocean

The large anti-submarine ship (BPK) of Project 1155 "Severomorsk" took part in exercises to search for submarines of a mock enemy in the Arctic Ocean. This was reported by the press service of the Northern Fleet.

The maneuvers took place in 2 stages. At the first stage, the ship's crew of the under-keel search hydroacoustic station of circular view and target designation "Polynom" (MG-355) discovered an underwater target.

Next, the sailors determined the bearing and distance, giving the commander of "Severomorsk" data about the mock enemy. Then the mine-torpedo crew used a rocket launcher against the target.

At the second stage, the crew of the Ka-27 helicopter searched for the submarine using a dipping hydroacoustic station. After issuing target designation data, the ship's combat crews carried out conditional firing with an anti-submarine missile system.
