Russia has developed the newest artillery and mortar fire adjustment system "Eye/Thunderstorm". The system involves a drone and a tablet with special software.
The "Eye/Thunderstorm" application allows UAV operators to directly interact with artillery gun crews, mortars and tank crews. The drone operator's console displays the real work with a Mavic-type quadcopter.
He observes, puts targets on the map, which immediately appear and are displayed on the screen for calculations. These actions used to be performed by eye. Scouts and observers were tied to the terrain by landmarks and determined distances, dictated data to artillery officers via radio, and the gun crew waited for data to fire.
For ease of communication, the application has a direct connection and chat, which the enemy not only cannot jam the novelty with electronic warfare equipment, but also intercept.
The image immediately appears on the map, and the sight and protractor have already been calculated - this speeds up the work by 50%.
However, mortars continue to work with optical sights, so aiming and restoring aiming is done manually.
