The Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA) stated that the new VK-800SM aircraft engine for the LMS-901 "Baikal" light aircraft surpasses foreign competitors, including the main one - N80-200 for L-410 aircraft.
The company noted that the VK-800SM provides greater power with significant efficiency.
For air carriers, the Russian engine will be reliable, controllable and easy to operate.
The "Baikal" engine is one of the variations of the VK-800 family. The engines will be transferred to UTS-800 training aircraft and the fleet of L-410s remaining in Russia. Maximum takeoff power for the three engine modifications will range from 807 hp to 877 hp.
In July, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov, inspected the VK-800 production workshopfor regional aviation aircraft TVRS-44 "Ladoga", LMS-901 "Baikal" and UTS-800 training aircraft.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the production of systems for Il-114-300 and MS-21-310 has been expanded in Nizhny Novgorod.
