The Sokol aircraft plant has opened workshops with heat treatment equipment and 3D printers for additive manufacturing

The Sokol aircraft plant in Nizhny Novgorod has expanded the production of components for the Il-114-300 turboprop and MS-21-310 passenger aircraft. The company will open 12 new sections for the production of units.

These measures will increase aircraft production and improve the quality of manufacturing of keel beam compartments, fuselage compartments and door parts.

To improve the quality and efficiency of production, the plant is creating a Center of Competence for foundry production with modern equipment, including 3D printers for additive manufacturing, melting furnaces and heat treatment units.

Certification of the Il-114-300 is scheduled for December 2025, and the transfer of the first production vehicles to customers will begin in the spring of 2026.
