The Obninsk-based Tekhnologiya enterprise named after A.G. Romashin, part of Rostec, has manufactured and supplied the first sets of side glazing for the driver's cabs for the promising platform of diesel and electric trains developed by Transmashholding.
The glazing is made of heat-strengthened silicate glass in the form of a double-glazed unit with an energy-saving coating. This technology ensures low thermal conductivity and sound insulation. Tests have confirmed the high strength of the products and resistance to impacts.
Rostec noted that the Tekhnologiya enterprise covers about 70% of the Russian market's needs for locomotive cab glazing and has expertise in the production of large-sized lightweight structures made of organic materials. These solutions are in demand when creating new generation rolling stock, including high-speed trains.
The promising platform of Transmashholding provides for various options for power plants: DC and AC electric motors, diesel, hydrogen, and gas. Tekhnologiya produces more than 400 types of structural optics products that are used in aviation, the railway industry, and the subway. In particular, its products are equipped with the "Moscow-2024" trains operating on the Zamoskvoretskaya line of the Moscow Metro.
