New online loan scam threatens Russians

Attackers use fake codes to access personal data

A new scam related to online loans has emerged in Russia. Fraudsters have started sending access codes from fake personal accounts on credit platform websites.

The attackers pose as employees of regulatory authorities and inform citizens about an allegedly submitted application for a microloan. In the process of communication, victims receive SMS notifications with access codes from various organizations. The messages create the illusion of legitimacy.

After receiving the codes, the fraudsters offer their help in canceling the application. To do this, they require access to the account on the public services portal. This allows them to obtain confidential data and deceive gullible citizens.

It is important to remember that real credit organizations never request personal data via SMS or phone calls. If you receive such a message, you should not react to it. It is best to immediately contact the support service of the bank or credit organization to confirm the information.
