Russian Railways (RZD) has added the ability to designate seats for passengers traveling with animals when purchasing train tickets, the company's press service reported.
Now, when purchasing a ticket, a passenger can not only find out if animals are allowed in the carriage, but also determine the location of their four-legged neighbor, as well as find out the duration of the joint trip.
Such places are marked in dark gray on the carriage layout, and when you hover over them, you can see the type of animal being transported and its route.
This feature is already available on the Russian Railways website and in the web application, and it will soon appear in the «RZD Passengers» mobile application. It is important to note that the information on the layout may change right up to the train's departure, as passengers can add animal transportation even on the day of departure.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that from 2025, FPC trains will allow the transportation of animals in a compartment without buying all the seats.
