Vitaly Loginov, chief engineer of the Lada Iskra project, said that AvtoVAZ does not plan to install a blind spot monitoring system (BSM) on the Lada Iskra. Previously, this function appeared on the new generation Lada Vesta.
We implemented this function on the Lada Vesta car. It is not planned for Lada Iskra
The blind spot monitoring system (BSM), already present on the Lada Vesta, increases maneuvering safety by informing the driver of obstacles in the "dead zones" via light signals on the side mirrors. This is especially useful when changing lanes, when objects may be hidden from direct view. It is assumed that the Lada Iskra is not equipped with this function due to its more affordable price category.
An alternative solution may be the use of modern monitoring systems integrated into the car's multimedia system. Rear and side view cameras, combined with parking sensors, can partially compensate for the lack of a blind spot monitoring system, providing the driver with additional information about the environment.
