Domestic airlines already need hundreds of aircraft, said aviation expert Roman Gusarov. According to him, dozens of aircraft will begin to arrive in 2026, but 10 times more are needed for further development and maintenance of traffic volumes.
One way out of the situation, Gusarov outlined aircraft leasing, which will allow developing the route network and positively affect the air transportation market in the country.
However, these should be either carriers from countries already under sanctions, or companies specifically created for business with Russia.
Perhaps someone has "extra" planes, someone is not afraid of secondary sanctions, and for someone, the transfer of aircraft to "wet" leasing to Russian companies will simply be economically beneficial. In short, many factors must come together for such transactions to take place.
Aviation expert Oleg Panteleev added that Russian carriers are purchasing the same products that they bought before, but using more complex schemes. But in the current situation, the risks of disruptions in supply chains have increased and procurement times have increased.
Airlines have to freeze working capital and form their own spare parts warehouses in order to have both consumables and the most frequently requested parts for repairs at hand.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Kazan Aviation Plant undertook to produce 10 Tu-214 aircraft per year: only one has been built so far.
