The United Engine Corporation (UEC, part of Rostec) has found a way to speed up the processing of parts for PD-8 and PD-14 aircraft engines.
In the mechanical assembly shop of the Moscow enterprise PC "Salut", UEC manufactures the most complex parts and assemblies of new PD-8 and PD-14 engines for domestic aircraft, as well as for helicopter engines.
To improve the production process, Alexander Tselishchev, a 6th-grade turner, developed a tool that speeds up the processing of parts on the machine.
It usually takes about 10-15 minutes to reconfigure the machine, and there can be a lot of such operations per shift. I proposed reducing the number of actions with the help of special tooling - I developed it myself and made a drawing. The head of the workshop supported the idea and passed it on to colleagues in tooling production. After a couple of weeks, we received the first sample. Now, with the new tooling, the equipment changeover time has been halved.
The reliable operation of the entire power plant depends on the accuracy of manufacturing each part. The tolerance for the dimensions of some elements does not exceed ten microns, which is five times less than the thickness of a hair.
Earlier www1.ru reported that an aviation expert declared the high reliability of the SJ-100 Superjet.
