The aircraft will be able to fly at an altitude of up to 22.5 km at three times the speed of sound

The Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI) presented the developed configuration of a supersonic passenger aircraft at the ICASSE 2025 conference in Singapore.

Using the developed method, MAI conducted studies of the design characteristics of a basic aircraft model with a capacity of 48 passengers.

According to calculations, such an aircraft will be able to cover up to 12 thousand km, while having an optimal take-off weight of 45-50 tons.

Its flight can take place at an altitude of up to 22.5 kilometers and at a speed three times the speed of sound. Thanks to innovative materials in the airframe structure — modern steels and titanium — it is possible to achieve the lightest possible weight of the aircraft for such a speed.
