At the Vympel shipyard (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation), work has been completed on the restoration of the MiG-21 aircraft. The aircraft will become a new landmark of Rybinsk.
On Thursday, July 31, the MiG-21 aircraft, restored at the enterprise, took its place on a pedestal on Gagarin Street. The fighter was taken out of the enterprise, delivered along the ring road to the installation site.
With the help of a mobile crane, it was unloaded, the wings were installed, and then the aircraft was fixed on the pedestal.
MiG-21 is the most common supersonic aircraft in history, also the most mass-produced 2nd generation fighter, the military nickname is «Dove of Peace».
