The Russian government has defined a strategy for the digital transformation of apartment buildings until 2030, with a focus on security. All digital components installed in homes, including IP intercoms, sensors, and meters, will be required to have protection against unauthorized access. This protection will be implemented using cryptographic tools certified by the Federal Security Service.
In addition to increasing comfort and energy saving, the concept of a "smart home" pays significant attention to cybersecurity. This includes protecting large amounts of data, ensuring the transparency of network infrastructure operation, and creating clear instructions for responding to cyber incidents. The Ministry of Construction emphasizes that the introduction of "smart homes" is a voluntary decision for developers, and so far this technology is most in demand in the capital.
The government has instructed four ministries—the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Digital Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Ministry of Energy—to develop a plan for implementing the concept within six months.
