The "Knyaz Pozharsky" strategic missile submarine (SSBN) (project 955A "Borey-A"), built at the "Sevmash" plant in Severodvinsk, arrived at its permanent base in the Northern Fleet — Gadzhievo. This was reported in the press service of the fleet.
The commander of the nuclear submarine stated that the crew had successfully completed the inter-base transfer. The submarine is in good working order, and the personnel are ready for new tasks.
The "Knyaz Pozharsky" was met by the commander of the submarine forces of the Northern Fleet, Anatoly Kovalenko, and other representatives of the leadership. He reported that the submarine will join the group of strategic missile submarines. They form the basis of Russia's naval strategic nuclear forces.
The submarine was laid down in Severodvinsk in December 2016. The ceremony of raising the St. Andrew's flag took place on the "Knyaz Pozharsky" on July 24. The nuclear submarine is equipped with effective electronic equipment and strike weapons, including Bulava ballistic missiles.
