AvtoVAZ has begun patenting parts for its new Lada Azimut crossover, which is standard practice before the start of mass production. The first patented part was the air intake grille in the front bumper.
By the way, there is at least one Frenchman in the Azimut design development team - Eugène Akkerman, who received Russian citizenship.
Lada Azimut will be the first fully Russian crossover developed on the basis of the modernized Lada Vesta platform. The car will be equipped with updated VAZ engines with a volume of 1.6 and 1.8 liters, with a capacity of 120 and 132 hp, respectively, with the possibility of choosing between a manual gearbox and a CVT. In the future, it is also planned to release a 150-horsepower turbo engine with a classic "automatic".
The dimensions of the new crossover are 4416 x 1838 x 1607 mm, and the wheelbase is 2675 mm, which promises comfortable space for passengers and the driver.
Earlier www1.ru reported that AvtoVAZ officially presented Lada Azimut.
