The Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket will deliver an Iranian satellite into orbit on July 25. The launch will take place from the Vostochny Cosmodrome at 08:54 Moscow time. This was reported by Roscosmos.
The Iranian agency Tasnim previously clarified the details of the mission. In addition to the main cargo in the form of two Russian satellites "Ionosphere-M", the rocket will also launch an Iranian satellite into orbit. The logos of the Iranian Space Agency (ISA) and the Space Research Center will be applied to the body of the "Soyuz".
This is not the first joint launch between the two countries. Iran has previously used Russian cosmodromes to launch its spacecraft. In February 2024, the head of ISA, Hassan Salarieh, announced plans to build the national Chahbahar cosmodrome. It will allow Iran to conduct launches independently.
