Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov set the task of working out the possibility of increasing the supply of new small arms — 5.45 mm AK-12K assault rifles and 5.45 mm RPL-20 belt-fed light machine guns as soon as possible. This was reported by the Kalashnikov concern (part of Rostec).
The shortened AK-12K was created taking into account the requests of the military personnel of the airborne assault units. It has improved ergonomic, technical and operational characteristics that meet all the requirements of modern combat.
RPL-20 is a light machine gun that was created in the Kalashnikov design and technology center and finalized based on recommendations from airborne assault units. Ammunition is fed from a belt placed in a box that is attached to the machine gun.
Earlier www1.ru reported that a new wide-body aircraft will appear in Russia: development deadlines have been announced.
