AvtoVAZ presented its new Lada Azimut crossover at SPIEF. The car is based on the Lada Vesta. The car will go into production in 2026. Automotive journalist Maxim Kadakov looked at the car from the outside and shared his impressions of the crossover. The expert was very impressed with the design of the new car. According to Kadakov, the buyer would never think that this car was created on the basis of the Lada Vesta.
In fact, what remains of the [Lada Vesta] is the engine shield, which stands across, the front part of the floor and some other elements, as well as some of the front suspension.
The journalist emphasized that the rear suspension is completely different. Kadakov also highlighted the original design headlights. He emphasized that in terms of lighting technology, VAZ employees refused to take something "off the shelf of finished products".
The automotive journalist highlighted the interesting interior, a beautiful dial for switching transmission modes. On the side, in the rear, he drew attention to the recesses, probably made to hint at the relationship with the Lada Niva.
Speaking about which engines the Lada Azimut will have, Kadakov noted that the plant plans to install a turbo engine in one of the modifications.
The plant is working on introducing a turbo engine in combination with a hydromechanical gearbox. Turbo engines and hydromechanics will be purchased, of course. Better this way than not moving forward.
