The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec) has not abandoned plans to build a domestic long-range aircraft. This was announced by the head of UAC, Vadim Badeha.
He recalled that such work was previously carried out jointly with China in a partnership format, which looked commercially effective. At the moment, the topic remains relevant for UAC.
In general, for this kind of Russian project, there was previously no understanding of the engine. Now the situation with the PD-35 engine is in the development stage. And we believe that when the engine appears, it will be 100% possible to talk about a long-range aircraft. What kind of aircraft is it? Is it a very wide fuselage and, conditionally speaking, it is an Il-96 with a 35th engine, or a medium class of aircraft, slightly larger than the MS-21.
Earlier www1.ru reported that ODK revealed the technology of "growing" blades for PD-8 and PD-14 aircraft engines.
