At the Novinki airfield in the Moscow region, a new generation airship — NOVA-01 from AERONOVA — took to the air for the first time.
As part of the "New Generation Airships" project, which started in August 2024, the company plans to develop and launch airships for a wide range of applications — from stratospheric light aerostats to rigid heavy-lift cargo airships.
Testing of the NOVA-01 airship began with technical work in May 2025 at the Novinki airfield. AERONOVA engineers assembled the gondola, laid cables, and checked control and communication systems.
After that, the airship was taken out of the hangar for the first time to assess the functionality of the mooring mast and its behavior during the aerial feathering maneuver.
Characteristics of the NOVA-01 airship:
- Flight altitude — up to 1,000 meters above sea level
- Flight speed — up to 80 km/h
- Payload capacity — up to 50 kg
- Flight range — up to 200 km
