Launch of "Rassvet" Communication Satellites to Start in December 2025

Roscosmos' new project will provide broadband Internet access anywhere in the world

The serial deployment of the low-orbit satellite constellation "Rassvet," developed by the Russian company "Bureau 1440," will begin in December this year. This was announced by Dmitry Bakanov, head of Roscosmos, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). According to Bakanov, the first phase involves launching 350 satellites, with the number increasing to 900 in the future.

That is, almost 1,000 devices will work in the interests of the Russian population and provide broadband access anywhere in the country and the world.

The "Rassvet" satellites will be able to provide Internet connections even in the most remote corners of the planet, including on board airplanes and trains. Commercial service is expected to launch in 2027, when more than 250 devices are in orbit. By 2035, the number of satellites may exceed 900, which will significantly expand communication capabilities for users around the world.
