Bearing Manufacturer for Anti-Aircraft Missiles to Raise Prices by 500%

OK-Loza Company Proved in Court That the Price Increase Is Due to the Labor-Intensive Process

OK-Loza Company, which produces bearings for anti-aircraft missiles under a state order, will not reduce prices for products for the Avangard Moscow Machine-Building Plant (part of the Almaz-Antey Aerospace Defence Concern) after an inspection by the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia. The manufacturer proved that the increase in the cost of components by more than 500% is due to the labor-intensive process.

OK-Loza proved in the Ninth Arbitration Court of Appeal that it does not occupy a dominant position in the market, therefore it can raise prices for products without any additional conditions, and the production of one bearing takes five and a half times longer than before.

The dispute arose over two bearing models - 900810У ЕТУ 100/5 and 900912 ЕТУ 100/5. The "ЕТУ" group includes bearings used in special purpose products and the aviation industry.

Avangard planned to purchase a batch of bearings from OK-Loza back in 2021, but found that the prices for the products were more than five times higher than the company had originally anticipated.
