"Not to stand in an open field": Airfields for Tu-95MS, Tu-22M3, and Tu-160 to be built in Russia

Allocation of funds for facilities will be legally закреплена in the state program

In Russia, it is necessary to prepare the necessary infrastructure in advance for the deployment of new weapons systems, so that they are not placed "in an open field," President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting on weapons.

According to him, it is important to calculate the needs in advance and begin preparing the infrastructure for the deployment of new weapons systems, including airfields, bases, arsenals, and so on.

I know, I keep signing these documents. When they come, not because of a good life, of course, the leaders, they ask to transfer these expenses to other, seemingly more important, items. But what does this lead to? To the fact that a new weapons system appears, and then it ends up in an open field.

The financial resources necessary for the construction and modernization of such facilities need to be закреплена as a separate line in the relevant state program, the head of state noted.
