Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) units in the Russian Navy have begun to master the modernized Forpost-R drones with an increased range of up to 250 km. The drones can conduct reconnaissance at any time of the day and strike even moving targets - they are armed with guided missiles and aircraft bombs.
The Forpost complex includes three UAVs, auxiliary equipment and a control point. With a maximum take-off weight of about 500 kg, the drone is capable of carrying aircraft ammunition weighing up to 100 kg. For example, the KAB-20 adjustable aircraft bomb, as well as missiles.
The cruising speed of the vehicle is from 120 to 180 km/h, the practical altitude is up to 6 thousand m, the maximum flight duration is 18 hours. The range of action is about 250 km.
The refined version of the UAV is a full-fledged reconnaissance and strike drone. It can control the waters of the Barents Sea or vast sparsely populated northern territories. At the same time, detected targets can be attacked immediately - with the help of aerial bombs and missiles.
