The accuracy of the GLONASS navigation satellite system may reach the decimeter level by 2030-2031. This was stated by the head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Bakanov. According to him, this will happen thanks to cooperation with the company "Бюро 1440" and their "Рассвет" project. He announced this at the tenth conference "Digital Industry of Industrial Russia" (CIPR).
We are currently discussing with colleagues from "Бюро 1440" – thanks to their group, the accuracy can be increased to decimeter level by combining GLONASS and "Рассвет".
Currently, GLONASS provides navigation accuracy within 2.5 meters. Bakanov noted that joint work with "Бюро 1440" will significantly improve this characteristic, combining the capabilities of both systems. The project is expected to be implemented within 5-6 years, which will improve navigation accuracy to decimeters.
The "Digital Industry of Industrial Russia" conference is taking place in Nizhny Novgorod from June 2 to 5. The Global Digital Forum will also be held as part of the event, which will be a key event of the year for discussing Russia's interaction with friendly countries in the field of information and communication technologies.
