A system based on artificial intelligence (AI) may be launched in Russia to detect violations of traffic rules by scooter riders. This was reported by NtechLab.
The developed AI complex will be able to determine if a person crosses a pedestrian crossing on a scooter without dismounting, or rides together, including with a child. The system will also record parking violations.
The built-in voice assistant will be able to politely remind you of the rules — for example, ask you to get off the scooter at a "zebra crossing" or stop moving together.
The technology is planned to be used in cities where scooters are especially popular, including in parks and pedestrian zones. The product is currently undergoing final testing, and several regions have already expressed interest in it.
The developers want to introduce a function for transferring data about violators directly to kicksharing services — this will allow them to respond more quickly and warn users. The company emphasizes that the goal of the project is to improve safety and reduce the number of accidents involving scooters.
