One of Russia's largest air carriers, "Ural Airlines," has confirmed its interest in acquiring new medium-range aircraft. The airline's CEO, Kirill Skuratov, discussed this issue with the head of Rosaviatsiya, Dmitry Yadrov, on May 28.
However, the airline does not yet have contracts for the supply of the MC-21, as there is no clear understanding of the aircraft's flight performance characteristics, which are only being declared.
Currently, "Ural Airlines" operates a fleet exclusively of foreign medium-range Airbus A320 family aircraft. As of the beginning of April, it included four A319s, three A320neos, 22 A320ceos, eight A321neos, and 12 A321ceos.
The MC-21 aircraft was certified in 2021, but since then, the aircraft has been undergoing a process of import substitution. Now, the manufacturer, the "Yakovlev" company, promises to begin deliveries in 2026.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the "inner world" of the PD-14 aircraft engine was shown in detail for the first time: the temperature is like on Venus.
