On the sidelines of the Russian-Chinese Forum in Khabarovsk, JSC "Kama" and the government of the Khabarovsk Territory concluded an agreement on cooperation in the field of electric vehicles. According to the document, workshops for the production of components for the promising "Atom" electric car may open in the region.
The Minister of Energy of the region, German Tyutyukov, clarified that specific details and sites have not yet been determined, but options in the Khabarovsk region and Komsomolsk-on-Amur are being considered.
The production of Russian electric vehicles is a whole concept, an intellectual development, completely digital. Drones will also be produced on this basis. This is a completely Russian manufacturer that has developed several prototypes and is entering mass production. We want the Khabarovsk Territory to be one of the first places where it will be tested. This includes taxis, car sharing, and public transport.
Earlier, the company announced that it plans to start mass production of "Atom" from 2025, while the assembly of cars will be carried out at the "Moskvich" plant with the technological support of "KAMAZ". Plans for localizing production in Uzbekistan and China have already been discussed.
"Atom" is positioned as a completely Russian development with digital and unmanned functions.
