The Ministry of Digital Development of Russia has approved the allocation of 13.6 billion rubles to support domestic software. The funds will be distributed through the Russian Fund for the Development of Information Technologies (RFRIT) from 2025 to 2027.
RFRIT provides grants to IT companies for the implementation of various projects. The size of the grants ranges from 10 million to 6 billion rubles, and the implementation periods range from six months to five years. The fund covers at least half of the project cost. Since 2019, the fund has supported 181 IT projects totaling more than 28.5 billion rubles. Of this amount, about 17 billion rubles was allocated to particularly important initiatives.
Grants will be awarded to particularly significant projects (OZP) that meet the following criteria:
- Refinement and implementation of Russian software
- Reducing dependence on foreign technologies
- Achieving the 9th level of technological readiness
- Inclusion in the registers of Russian software and radio electronics
Distribution by year:
- 2025 — 4.563 billion ₽
- 2026 — 4.551 billion ₽
- 2027 — 4.538 billion ₽
The selection will be handled by the presidium of the government commission on digital development based on proposals from the Ministry of Digital Affairs. RFRIT has already funded several successful projects, including:
- Robot control platform from the University of Innopolis
- Russian BIM-system «ТИМ Кредо»
- Algorithm library «Цифровая дорога»
- Software package CyberThymus for cybersecurity
Additional funds will allow the fund to continue working in this direction. It is expected that the grants will help accelerate the development and implementation of solutions by domestic IT companies.
