Number of Mainline Transitions Increased in the DPR to Improve Internet Connection

Infrastructure expansion will provide a more stable connection with Crimea, Rostov, and Lugansk

In the Donetsk People's Republic, the number of mainline transitions has been increased from two to five to improve connection stability. The new transitions provide a stable connection with Crimea, Rostov-on-Don, and Lugansk, which helps to increase the reliability and fault tolerance of the region's telecommunications infrastructure.

At the end of 2022, there were only two transitions to nearby territories, which limited the flexibility of the network. Currently, thanks to the creation of five directions within the framework of spatial redundancy, communication in the region has become significantly more stable.

In parallel with the expansion of the mainline infrastructure in the DPR, work is underway to prevent damage to cable routes during construction and restoration work. To coordinate actions, a working group has been created, which includes all key industry communication enterprises. It is engaged in coordinating construction work with contractors. However, not all contractors comply with the rules, so measures are being considered to tighten responsibility for unauthorized actions that lead to cable damage.
