Kaiyi E5 sedans of Kaliningrad assembly have appeared in the motor pool of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. White cars with black military license plates starting with «МО» were spotted on the streets of Moscow, indicating that they belong to the motor pool of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff.
Judging by external signs, the military acquired cars in the basic Standard configuration: they are equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels and do not have bright brake calipers, characteristic of more expensive versions. The cost of such a configuration on the market is about 2.1 million rubles, but taking into account possible discounts for government customers, the price may be lower. 
Kaiyi E5 sedans have been produced at the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad since January 2023. The car is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with a capacity of 147 hp, a CVT, and front-wheel drive. The cars are adapted to Russian operating conditions: enhanced noise insulation, felt wheel arch liners, anti-corrosion treatment of the body, heated seats and other «warm» options have been installed.  
Although there is no official information on the number of cars purchased, the appearance of the Kaiyi E5 in the motor pool of the Ministry of Defense may indicate the department's desire to update its official transport at the expense of localized models. This may also support sales of the Kaiyi brand in the Russian market, where demand for the E5 model remains moderate.
