"Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant" (KMZ) has successfully repaired the В-2 engine of the T-34 tank. The unit had not been in operation for a long time. This was reported by the press service of the enterprise.
The engine was repaired at the request of representatives of the Z.G. Kolobanov Museum "Battle for Leningrad". The restoration of the unit became part of the preparation for participation in the parade for the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War in St. Petersburg.
Today we successfully launched the engine, and now the tank is ready for the parade. We thank the employees of KMZ for the work done and the creative attitude to solving the difficulties encountered.
The repair included disassembly, washing, and marking of engine parts. Some elements of the unit's design were successfully restored, while others were manufactured anew. During assembly, specialists installed new gaskets and seals.
Earlier www1.ru reported that KMZ undertook the repair of 15Д100 for a foreign customer.
