Aeroflot will launch the Russian aircraft maintenance and repair system Kupol this year. It will replace the similar foreign program AMOS, according to Anton Matskevich, Deputy General Director for Information Technology at Aeroflot.
In the fourth quarter of this year, we will put this system "into production" at Aeroflot. Next year, we will replicate this entire story in our subsidiaries.
The Kupol system will contain complete information about each aircraft, from the moment of its production to its decommissioning, including data on repairs and maintenance. Manufacturers, airlines, leasing companies, and government agencies will have access to the system. This will allow all participants in the process to track the condition and history of each aircraft in Russia.
Matskevich emphasized that the launch of the Kupol system will be an important step towards creating an electronic passport for aircraft.
The program is being developed by IC IAS. Aeroflot will start using the program now, followed by S7 Airlines and Utair.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Aeroflot has started developing software for pilots' tablets based on Aurora.
