Ural Airlines has entered into an agreement for the supply of new domestic narrow-body MC-21 aircraft. However, due to the huge queue, the company fears that they will not see the new liners anytime soon, said carrier representative Marianna Galagura.
According to her, all Russian airlines have a great interest in domestic aircraft. However, the industry has not yet begun mass production of them.
All Russian airlines are queuing for Russian aircraft. To date, about 900 applications have already been submitted for new machines. Aeroflot is in first place everywhere. Until our turn comes, there are no forecasts, probably not soon.
According to Galagura, there is a lot of work to be done with the new liners. It is necessary to train technical personnel, pilots, and purchase new equipment for aircraft maintenance.
We still need to buy spare parts. This will take a lot of time and require a lot of money.
MC-21 is a new generation medium-range passenger aircraft with a capacity of 163 to 211 passengers. The liner is assembled at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant. The first flight took place on May 28, 2017, and on December 15, 2020, the aircraft made its first flight with the Russian PD-14 engine.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the Irkutsk Aviation Plant laid the semi-fuselages for the new MC-21.
