An important area of production for UEC-UMPO (part of the United Engine Corporation) is ground-based gas turbine engines that drive installations for pumping natural gas, which means they enable the operation of industrial enterprises and the heating of residential buildings.
One of the most famous series is the AL-31ST, the first of which was installed at the Karpinskaya compressor station in the Sverdlovsk region in 1994.
The AL-31ST engine has a designated resource of 125,000 hours — over 14 years of continuous operation. One AL-31ST drive can pump up to 36 million cubic meters of gas per day, and in a year can provide heating for up to 2.5 thousand homes.
Currently, 119 AL-31ST engines are successfully operating at many facilities of the Russian fuel and energy complex. Their total operating time has exceeded 2.6 million hours.
AL-31ST drives have high thrust, low vibration and noise levels, and are also resistant to extreme operating conditions. They operate, among other places, in the Amur Region, on the Yamal Peninsula, and in Yakutia.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that UEC had transferred the second AL-41ST-25 industrial engine for trial operation.
