The latest multi-purpose tactical missile 9M134 "Bulat" achieved operational readiness in the fall of 2024. In terms of armor penetration behind dynamic protection (ERA) elements, the ammunition is 5.2 times inferior to the guided missile 9M133M-2 of the "Kornet" anti-tank missile system, according to military expert Evgeny Damantsev.
According to him, the new product borrowed the layout from the heavier 9M133M-2 missile of the "Kornet" complex with a mass of 6.5 kg and a range of up to 3500 m, practically reaching the parameters of the 9M113M complex "Konkurs-M".
The missile also has a tandem cumulative warhead, but with armor penetration of about 250 mm behind ERA instead of 1300 mm for the "Kornet".
Consequently, the new missile is designed to hit the enemy's main battle tanks only in the side and rear projections, as well as heavy infantry fighting vehicles CV90 "Stridsfordon-90", M2A2 ODS-SA and 1A3 "Marder" in all sectors of armor projections without exception, except for those covered by BRAT-2 ERA elements.
The "Bulat" guidance system is teleorientation in a laser beam. The ATGM was presented as part of a new uninhabited module armed with a 57-mm automatic low-ballistics gun, a 7.62-mm machine gun, and the "Kornet" ATGM.
The missile is designed to engage medium-armored targets, including those equipped with dynamic protection, light-armored and unarmored vehicles.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Su-35S fighters have become flying radars, replacing A-50.
