The "ODK-Saturn" enterprise has created and launched the production of new PD-8 power plants. During tests on special stands, these engines confirmed compliance with all declared technical characteristics and demonstrated stable operation even in crosswinds.
In preparation for flight tests, air intake, flight parameter monitoring, fire extinguishing, and anti-icing systems were installed on the aircraft's engines. These systems are not used during the testing phase at the enterprise but are mandatory for ensuring flight safety.
The PD-8 turbofan engine with two circuits, which provides a thrust of 8 tons, is designed for short-haul aircraft. Advanced Russian materials and technologies are used in its production.
The first flight with PD-8 engines took place in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. The plane spent about 40 minutes in the air, rising to a height of up to 3000 meters and reaching speeds of up to 500 kilometers per hour.
