The United Engine Corporation (UEC) has delivered additional PD-8 engines for the certification of the SJ-100 Superjet aircraft, Rostec's press service reported.
The state corporation noted that a large cooperation of enterprises under the auspices of the United Aircraft Corporation is working on a program to create a fully domestic Superjet aircraft.
We are entering the stage of certification flights in the near future. The work is being carried out in a short time, and the connection of another aircraft to the tests will help speed up this process.
The PD-8 turbofan engine with a thrust of 8 tons was created in a record time for the global engine industry - in just six years. New materials and advanced technologies were used in the work on the domestic power plant. In the course of work on the PD-8, the designers relied on the experience gained during the development of its "older brother" - the PD-14.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the Nizhny Novgorod plant has started production of foundry parts for MS-21 and Tu-214 aircraft.
