Уникальный стенд сократил сроки создания двигателя ПД-8

The "Virtual Bird" semi-natural stand for the SJ-100 was created in the 2000s

The first flight of the SJ-100 aircraft with PD-8 engines took place on March 17, 2025. This was made possible thanks to the coordinated work of specialists from Yakovlev, UEC-Saturn, and GosNIIAS, where components and systems of the aircraft's onboard equipment complex were tested on the "Electronic Bird" stand. This was reported by the press service of GosNIIAS.

During the work, specialists debugged the interaction of aircraft systems with the equipment of the new engines, the screen display in the cockpit, and information messages in normal operating modes and in failure situations.

The "Virtual Bird" semi-natural stand (Sukhoi called it "Electronic Bird") for the SSJ-100 was created during the design of the aircraft in the 2000s. For the import-substituted aircraft, GosNIIAS was tasked with creating a new complex with the integration of domestic onboard systems.

The first flight with PD-8 engines took place in Komsomolsk-on-Amur last week. The plane was in the air for about 40 minutes, reaching an altitude of up to 3,000 m and a speed of 500 km/h.
